Counterpoint: Dear Elizabeth (or, I, too, Have Been to a Mountain Top)

I love you Elizabeth Furnace.  How have we not met before?  You live so close to me, and you are so pretty.  Like a beautiful flower… with lots of mountain bike trails.  I understand that our first date had some rocky spots.  Don’t sweat it.  So you have some fire roads.  Doesn’t everyone, deep down inside?  What counts is the chemistry, and I think we’ve got what it takes.  Good climbs, sweet singletrack downhills, cool stream crossings, and magnificent views.  The whole package, and more…  BECAUSE YOU’VE GOT BEARS!  Your bears are so awesome, they probably wear eye patches, throw ninja stars, and drive firetrucks.  I know you can’t reveal everything on the first date, but I think if we work hard enough on this thing we got going, you will find that we are just the type of posse that you will want to show those bears to.  Because trust me, there will be plenty of opportunities to get to know me (and the rest of the posse) better in the future.  I promise.
